The Rembrandt |
|
The Rembrandt stands tall along Martell Crescent with all the hallmarks of a Roman manor. This unique two-story is built on a reverse walk-out lot, featuring unequaled curb-appeal and balanced massing. A timeless poured aggregate step and driveway lead up to the main entrance, enhanced by beautifully designed wrought-iron overlaid double doors. Two columns, finished in Fluted-Stonetile, anchor the grand vaulted entrance and second storey balcony, giving this home classic Roman appeal; Stucco and keystone treatments above the main entry, vaulted balcony, and garage door, as well as the Stonetile below-grade continue the traditional finishing. Stonetile pediments and bases on the windows, shutters to the two feature windows, and an “old world” renaissance-style overhead garage door, continue the European influence found throughout the home. A phenomenal view of the Edmonton skyline can be seen from the second storey balcony, as this home is located near Edmonton’s highest point. The Rembrandt defines gracious living from the moment you step inside and feel the "Hand Scraped Maple" hardwood floors beneath your feet. An incredible two-storey vaulted great room sits at the heart of this grand manor home, and is accessible from all rooms on the main floor. Inspired by a Roman castello(castle), the great room is surrounded by custom-made wrought-iron balconies that overlook the room on three sides. The elegant two-sided Flor di Fuoco fireplace, imported directly from Florence is hand-carved from solid limestone. A formal dinning room extends off the great room, connected through the two sided fireplace and dual doorways. The upper floor features balconied hallways to the master suite, two oversized bedrooms and another full bathroom. The master suite is complete with fireplace, elegant woodwork, and ensuite that includes a stand-alone shower, dual vanities with granite countertops, as well as a private toilet closet. An elongated raised eating bar and countertop, finished in Black Galaxy granite, together with two arched pass-throughs, seamlessly tie the kitchen into the rest of home. Gorgeous Virginian Maple cabinets are finished in two-tones: Chestnut Pewter Glaze for the cabinets around the stainless steel Wolff gas stove and the cabinets around the stainless steel SubZero fridge. And Sandstone with Chocolate Glaze to the oversized island and two half-depth cabinets on either side of the stove. Both are finished with crown mould, valance, bead board and decorative Corbel scrolled bar-brackets. Tumbled Limestone ceramic backsplash with Travertine border above the stove, Moen faucets with Oil-rubbed finish, and stylish pendant lights finish the room with elegant detail. The Rembrandt features classic-style architectural wood-work and finishes throughout, creating a residence of European charm. Fluted square encasings and lintel headers around doors, windows, and the oversized mirror evoke this classic style, bringing the theme of the exterior - inside. Sophisticated crown-molding can be found throughout, with unique painted edge border and hand-toweled textured ceilings. Fluted glass, found in the two French doors off the great room/master bedroom, in the kitchen’s Sandstone with Chocolate Glaze Virginian Maple cabinets, on the pantry door, and in the lower level’s Espresso cabinet wet bar, complement the classic woodwork effortlessly. The home theater, just around the corner from the wet bar, is simply stunning. Six reclining leather theater-chairs, with stadium installation, means everyone can enjoy the picture on the 96” x 50” projection screen. Red velvet valance and curtains, together with dark-chocolate painted wainscoting and woodwork, makes you feel like your watching a movie in a Hollywood producer’s home. Just off the theater, is an incredible glazed wine-cellar that is sure to cause a true connoisseur’s heart to flutter. Unique wrought-iron gating, with grape and grape leaf details, customize the two windows that flank the look-through door. Cultured stone, as well as a decorative suit of armor, and cleverly converted wine barrels (into storage for wine bottles) add a touch off authenticity. |
